WGA confirms writers for The Mandalorian Season 2

Star Wars fans are in the final stretch as The Mandalorian Season 2 arrives on Disney+ at the end of October. Fans now have confirmation on the writers of each episode and proof that some rumors are a reality.

According to the Writer's Guild of America website, we now have a list of writers for The Mandalorian Season Two including Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Rick Famuyiwa. That's it.

Favreau and Filoni both wrote episodes in season one. Famuyiwa directed two episodes in season one but will make his solo writing debut in this second season. Famuyiwa has credit as a co-writer of one episode in the first season.

Here's how it breaks down. Jon Favreau didn't get to play much with the first season of the show. He had commitments to other large productions. This changes with season two has he is credited for six of the eight epiosdes: Chapters 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 16. Filoni will pen Chapter 13. Filoni wrote and directed

Chapters 1 and 5 of Season One. Famuyiwa will write Chapter 15. The Writer's Guild of America doesn't provide directors. Many fans are curious to see if Deborah Chow will return or if her schedule is too consumed by the untitled Kenobi project.

It's known Favreau was crafting scripts for Season 2 before the release of Season 1 thanks to his Instagram game. Production on Season 2 started almost immediately. Season 3 is expected to begin production in 2021 and if buy Giancarlo Esposito for his word, we are also getting a season four.

Bryce Dallas-Howard has been confirmed as a returning director from Season One. Various outlets have also confirmed Carl Weathers making his directorial debut, Robert Rodriguez, Peyton Reed.

The new season of The Mandalorian premieres on Disney+ on October 30, 2020.
