Vanity Fair reveals new assassin in "The Mandalorian" and first for Star Wars
Star Wars fan and film writer for Vanity Fair thrilled the internet Monday with new looks at some familiar faces from the upcoming Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.
The big reveal is Ming-Na Wen's character, Fennec Shand. She's described as, "an assassin and elite mercenary who made her name killing for the top crime syndicates."
Of the footage that dropped on Monday, the :30 teaser shows The Mandalorian riding a Dewback, a Ugnaut voiced by Nick Nolte, blasting into hyperspace, and The Mandalorian firing a flame thrower into the mouth of a creature we think is a Reek without its side arms.
Breznican also notes in following tweets is that this is the first major female Asian Star Wars character who has more of a villainous side.
Another tidbit Bresznican shared on Twitter is that Shand has made a career with killing with a big, big gun. This may leave one to ask what is a big, big gun in Star Wars. In a galaxy where a Death Star once existed, a few times, I'm nervously optimistic to see the fire power this character wields. If this was fantasy football, our guess is if you miss out on her, maybe it's best to make sure you pick IG-11 on your team.
