The Book of Boba Fett logo revealed on GMA, Favreau reveals production schedule
The week of Christmas starts with yet another new Star Wars title announced. The Mandalorian Creator, Jon Favreau, stopped by Good Morning America on Monday to officially reveal the series, the show's logo, and production schedule. The Book of Boba Fett was teased at the end of The Mandalorian Season 2, Chapter 16 with a post-credits scene.
Favreau confirmed that it was by his design The Book of Boba Fett was not revealed until after the season two finale dropped on Disney+.
"We wanted to hold this back because we didn't want to spoil the surprise during the big Disney announcement of all the shows when Kathleen Kennedy was up there so they let me keep this a secret.
Favreau also clarified how this series syncs up with The Mandalorian. Some believed the two projects were the same. That is definitely not the case.
This is actually separate from The Mandalorian Season 3. But what we didn't say in that announcement is the next show coming up, Kathleen said the next chapter, and that's going to be The Book of Boba Fett and then we go into production right after that on season 3 of The Mandalorian. back with the main character that we have all known and love. So we are working on that pre-production while we are in production of Boba Fett.
That's an intense schedule. Especially when you consider he is just one facet of this storytelling effort. Also in the interview, he confirms Dave Filoni is actively writing scripts for the Ahsoka series that at this time doesn't have a release date.
The Book of Boba Fett is a new original series, starring Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen and executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez. This series is set within the timeline of The Mandalorian and will debut in December 2021.
