Review: Shadow Trooper Black Series Helmet
Updated: Sep 12, 2020
Hasbro's Star Wars Black Series Collection has been nothing but top quality since the line began in 2013. Featuring everything from highly detailed action figures, weapons and ships, the "premium" line of toys/collectibles began offering helmets as part of the series with the release of Kylo Ren in 2015. Since then there have been releases for Darth Vader, Poe Dameron, Imperial Stormtroopers, Luke Skywalker X-Wing pilot, Boba Fett and a Prototype Boba.
The helmets have quickly become highly sought after by collectors and in 2016, the second helmet they released was the Shadow Trooper. It came and went from store shelves four years ago but seems to be popping up occasionally in GameStops and other places.
The high-gloss finish, attention to detail in the mold and the reflective eye lenses make this helmet stunning to look at. Subtle use of blue in the edges of the jaw line and a well hidden battery pack make this a remarkable showpiece. The headband inside is adjustable and a nose piece makes it comfortable to put on.
The only real complaint is that the voice changer doesn't work well unless your mouth is virtually wrapped around the in microphone inside.
