New LEGO Mos Eisley Cantina set (75290) has it where it counts, kid!

Updated: Sep 11, 2020

LEGO officially dropped the design for its new LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley play set (#75290) on Wednesday with a price of $349.99! At 3,187 pieces and 21 minifigures, this is a great deal.

To put it in perspective, the first Master Builder Set, Betrayal at Bespin (#75222) play set that came out in 2018, had price point of $349.99. That set featured 2812 pieces and also came with 21 mini figures. You’re getting 300 more pieces with the Cantina!

Last week, we told you out the LEGO South Korea page accidentally released some images of this set earlier than planned. This set was rumored for an October release.

Here’s what you’re getting in the Cantina

set: 7 new mini figures including Ponda Baba, Dr. Evazan, Garindian, Kardue Sai’ Malloc, & 3 Cantina band members. You’ll also get a new land speeder, scenes inside and outside of the cantina, and an all-new Dewback!

The Master Builder Sets have great figures & vehicles, and are wonderfully detailed. They are large though, so you’ll need to sort out a place to put them if you plan to display. One noticeable perk of the new Cantina set is that it’s more rectangular so it will fit on a shelf or table much easier than the circular Bespin set.

LEGO VIP members can order as early as Sept. 16th. Non-members may order beginning Oct. 1st. Overall, the price, figures, vehicles and design make this a MUST OWN!
